Clermont Hotel Group, famed for creating and operating ‘hotels as individual as you’, reveals The Cumberland Hotel. The Cumberland is rediscovering its rich history of housing music legends through the creation of a revitalised brand identity, and the launch of the brand-new food & beverage music-inspired concept, ‘SOUND’.

The hotel’s branding has received a British makeover, with accents of the Union Jack flag throughout the design. Now donning a classic blue shade, along with the incorporation of a plectrum in the logo, the icon reflects the ethos of the hotel as confident, contemporary and grounded in music – offering live music and entertainment seven days a week.

The introduction of SOUND, the new food & beverage offering, along with the evolution of the entertainment space, will see the creation of SOUND Cafe, SOUND Bar, and SOUND Sports Bar. Catering to a wealth of needs, newly-curated menus will offer refreshing drinks options, classic cocktails, laid-back eats, and contemporary dishes. Additional concepts will include a coffee bar in partnership with Costa and the ‘Backstage’ experience which includes a private party lounge, champagne reception and three-course meal, as well as overnight rooms.

Gavin Taylor, Chief Executive Officer at Clermont Hotel Group, comments; “If there is something that we understand at Clermont Hotel Group, it is that different people require different things. Our portfolio of extraordinary hotels caters to a fantastic range of guest needs, the one thing that never changes is the focus on providing quality service and great experiences. SOUND will deliver a new F&B destination in the heart of London, a hub for social occasions, and will continue to bring vibrancy and energy through a versatile live music and entertainment offering. The recreation of The Cumberland marks a new chapter that observes the venue’s heritage within London, and we aim to salute the property’s history, the icons that have stayed, and our place within the local community.”

The move to rediscover The Cumberland, which sits opposite Marble Arch on the corner of Oxford Street and Great Cumberland Place, follows the significant rebrand of Clermont Hotel Group, formerly Great London Hospitality (glh). This also contributes to the repositioning of the company within the travel, hospitality, and leisure markets, where it will streamline and reposition a number of property assets under its key brands.
